- What counts as a send?
- One accepted message to one recipient. A message to three recipients is three sends. Messages we refuse are not billed, and neither is anything a suppression rule stops before it leaves.
- Do you charge for mail between my own mailboxes?
- No. Mail your team sends to each other, and ordinary correspondence from a mailbox, is covered by the mailbox's monthly price. Sends are what the API and the relay put on the public internet on your behalf.
- Which plan do I need?
- If you want business email for a team - mailboxes on your own domain, read in Outlook, Apple Mail or ours - Starter is the whole product and nothing is missing from it. Enterprise is for sending from an application: the transactional API, the SMTP relay and the marketing stream, with templates, contact lists, keys and webhooks. You choose when you create your first mailbox and you can move up at any time.
- What happens to my mailboxes if I move down a plan?
- Nothing, until the period you have already paid for ends - and then only the size changes. No mail is deleted and no mailbox is ever reduced below what is stored in it: if one is too full for the smaller plan we postpone the change and write to you instead of shrinking it. Upgrading is the other way round and takes effect immediately, charging only the difference for the days left.
- Do I choose how big a mailbox is?
- No, and that is deliberate. The size comes from the plan - 25 GB on Starter, 100 GB on Enterprise - so the number you were quoted and the number your mailbox actually gets are the same number. There is no size dropdown anywhere in the product.
- Is there a free trial?
- There is no trial and no free tier. Sending stays off until billing is set and a domain is verified, so the first thing you spend is the smallest top-up - $5.
- Do you track opens and clicks?
- No. SendKnot does not do open or click tracking, so nothing here is priced on engagement. You get delivery, bounce and complaint data from the mail servers themselves, which is what tells you whether mail is arriving.
- What happens if my balance runs out?
- Sending stops and the Console says so before it does. Mailboxes keep receiving; a seat that goes unpaid is locked before anything is deleted, and the timeline is shown in the panel rather than assumed.
